HCC LibGuides

LibGuides, or Library Guides are subject guides developed by Librarians to help students, faculty, and staff find Library and Online Resources for their courses more easily. HCC’s LibGuides also feature curated collections of links to Open Educational Resources. Students and Faculty can request the creation of new guides for courses or specific research topics by reaching out to HCC Library staff.

Subscription Databases

Students can access all databases and the library catalog from anywhere off campus by using the links below and logging in with their StarID & Password.

  • A collection of 20 scholarly databases, including Academic Search Premier and CINAHL Plus with Full Text.


  • This database indexes multiple newspapers, providing access to historical and current editions of a variety of local, regional, national, and international newspapers.

Learning Express Library Express Library

  • A collection of homework tutorials, practice sets, textbooks, and test prep materials.


  • A collection of 14 scholarly databases, including Opposing Viewpoints and Student Resources in Context.


  • ELM (eLibrary Minnesota) gives Minnesota residents access to magazine, journal, newspaper and encyclopedia articles, media, including images, videos, and audio files, and other information resources.
