Hibbing Community College is committed to the success and well-being of ALL of our students, faculty and staff. Our definition of “diversity” includes but is not limited to age, ethnic origin, national origin, race, color, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, religious beliefs, creeds and income.
The HCC Diversity Committee, comprised of faculty, staff, students and community representatives, works on initiatives that meet our Mission: to lead our college in creating a diverse and inclusive, friendly, fair, equitable and supportive environment for all. The HCC Diversity Committee's annual ongoing workplan addresses four strategic areas as outlined in the Northeast Higher Education District Plan.
These strategic areas are:
- Access, equity and opportunity.
- Curriculum and learning for intercultural competence.
- Supportive campus environment.
- Community outreach and involvement.
The current HCC Inclusion and Equity Plan is continually updated. Anyone interested in a copy of the plan may contact Miriam Kero, Chief Diversity Officer.
