The 2018-2019 season will be Paul Ciochetto’s first season as head coach of Cardinals Men's basketball.
Ciochetto is a graduate of Chisholm High School, where he played for Bob McDonald, the winningest coach in Minnesota Sports history. His father, Mike, is a member of the Minnesota Girls’ Basketball coaching hall-of-fame and was the girls’ basketball and volleyball coach at Chisholm High School. Ciochetto played his college basketball at Vermilion Community College. He also played baseball and was an All-American Quarterback on the football team at Vermilion.
Ciochetto began his coaching career while living in Owatonna at Triton High School in Dodge Center, MN. He then coached in the Owatonna Traveling program before taking over the Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton Boys’ Basketball Program. Ciochetto started B-AIR, Basketball Academy of the Iron Range, upon moving back to the Iron Range. Paul also assisted with the Chisholm High School Football and Basketball teams and was on the bench for Bob McDonald’s 1,000th win.
Coach Ciochetto has an Associate of Science in Engineering from Vermilion Community College. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems with a Mathematics Minor from Bemidji State University. Paul also earned his MBA with an emphasis is Project Management from Capella University.
A Chisholm native, Paul is married to Amanda Stokes-Ciochetto and resides in Hibbing. They have five children, Autumn, Ashley, Taylor, Henry, and Charles.
