This course is the first of a two-semester sequence studying the concepts of structure and bonding, reactions and mechanisms, nomenclature, and spectroscopy. Topics include stereochemistry; addition, elimination, and substitution reactions; and IR, NMR, and Mass spectroscopy. (4 hours lecture/3 hours lab per week). Prerequisite(s): Chem 1202
