Course outline



America's Popular Music provides students a cultural background in America's music from the 1830's to the present time. The focus will be upon various styles of music, including theater, folk, popular, country and western, rock and roll, rock, disco, rap and hip-hop. The techniques of music listening will be developed. Prerequisite: None. MNTC goal area:(6)Humanties and Fine Arts, Area A and (7)Human Diversity. Credits: 3(3 lecture/0 lab)
